Reggie Sparks was born in Buffalo NY in 1973. Reggie was a latchkey kid. He grew up under powerlines. When he was two he rolled out of a moving car. Reggie remembers the blizzard of 77. His grandma had the board game. (rest peacefully Teresa Sparks) She was from Hungary. When he was younger his nextdoor neighbor tried to stab him with a butter knife. It still had butter on it. Reggie was a late bloomer. He used to make out with his uncle's girlfriends. Reginald Anthony Sparks III studied illustration at the University of Buffalo. In 1998 a 2 month road trip ended in San Francisco where Reggie worked for 13 years as a graphic designer and art director. Our latest adventure takes our hero to Los Angeles... Painting remains his passion.

Get your art on. there was a time when my nights out revolved around art and immersing myself in the scene and it's nuances. I miss it, most of it... We got a little dose tonight at the reception for Tender is the night at a great Venice Gallery, Marine contemporary. check out a write-up here

I looked up the lyrics to "Revolution" by the Beatles.

as powerful a song you think it may be, its tragically simplistic relative to where we are headed my children. Brace yourselves.

"Realize the change you need to make, take a shot, and dive headfirst into an empty pool."

when i take the time to reflect, i am always amazed at where i am in life. it's a humble existence, but one i could not have dreamed as a latchkey kid in Buffalo. i've no pool on the premises or lamborghini, but i have a car, a sweet motorcycle and i drank champagne for brunch. and i could crack another bottle at will. i live in one of the top 29 cities in the world. i am in a truly healthy, reciprocal, adult relationship. and I love it! i still have great aspirations for fame and notoriety but thats my hang-up... i often ask myself "who do you think you are?!" that's a good thing. i am very thankful through the twists and turns of life i have lodged myself here. for now.

i am a self made man and have pursued my whims for better or worse, and have learned a great deal.

an unequivocal promise
I owe a great debt of gratitude to my mother who encourages me at every turn and finds pride in my adventures as long as they are true!

and i continue...

Finally tackling my new portfolio site. Two years ago my last site was hacked crippling it. Iam trying new technologies to keep this site dynamic. We have made major ground setting up my home studio/workspace, returning from a three year hiatus. "I'm Back baby!"
